I’m moving to Thailand!
By the time this post goes live, I will be on a plane about to land in Thailand! 🤯🤯🤯
This marks the beginning of a new adventure and a completely new chapter in my life, and for once in a VERY long time, I feel ready. So very ready!
I feel inspired, energised and like myself again. I feel good.
According to timeanddate.com, I have been living in Aberdeen for 6 and a half years. That’s a long time to live somewhere you are not happy. I needed a change and a chance to start again and as I write this, less than a month before my flight, I still can’t believe it is happening.
I know I am very privileged to have the opportunity to do this, and I am so incredibly grateful for it. I also know that a change of location won’t necessarily solve all my problems but I think, in this case, it will definitely help.
Yes, I actively chose to come to Aberdeen in 2016. I wanted to come here, and for my first year here, I was fairly happy. In fact, this is the place I have lived in the longest since I left Spain when I was 15 years old. Over my time here, I’ve learned to appreciate it for the safety, friendships and learning opportunities I got here. But a lot has happened during the last 6 years and sometimes the best way to move on is to move.
I can’t tell you that Thailand is a dream come true or that I had been planning this for ages because I really hadn’t. This came out of nowhere and it really wasn’t part of my plan. I had never even considered Thailand until I saw this opportunity on social media, completely by chance.
But it feels right.
I know it won’t all be perfect and that there will definitely be some challenges but, like I said, I feel ready.
And I can’t wait to share more about this new chapter.
Lots of love,
PS. If you’d like to go on your own adventure to Thailand (or somewhere else), you can check out Gotoco, the organisation I am going with, and apply here. (FYI, this is a referral link and if you apply through it, I may get extra funding toward my trip, which would be very nice.)
